Lisa Tharpe

Lisa Frazier Tharpe serves as the Destination Development Manager for the Southern VA region of Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC).  Lisa works with tourism industry partners to facilitate the development of community-based tourism programs, tourism strategic planning, technical assistance, product development guidance, and cooperative marketing assistance to communities and tourism-oriented businesses.

Lisa is a native of Clarksville VA, and currently lives in Farmville. Before joining VTC, Lisa worked as the Community Engagement Director for Longwood University for 7 years. Prior to that she served as the Executive Director of the Farmville Chamber of Commerce and was a Board of Director for the VA State Chamber. Lisa graduated from Averett University, with a Double Major in Management and Marketing, and is currently in her 2nd term on the Alumni Board of Directors. She also serves on multiple Boards around the Region, and received the International Service Award from Lions Club International. Lisa is a graduate of “Lead Virginia” Class of 2023.
